From time to time, India's now largest Telecom operator, Jio, launches new plans and yesterday the company has announced several prepaid plans for its customers. Some are new, whereas some are renewed. Let's dig deep into these plans and figure out what is in it!

One year pack:

Jio OfferThe new Jio offer in the list is the Rs. 2399 plan. This plan provides validity of 365 days with a 2GB/day data offering. I have calculated the cost per month for this plan and it comes down to around Rs. 200/month. Which similar to the Rs. 599 plan which also gives you 2GB/day for 84 days with an effective cost of Rs.200/month. Along with the data, the plan offers the regular Unlimited Jio to Jio calls and 12000 Mins of Jio to Non-Jio calls. If you text a lot then there is 100sms/day with the bundle as well. Jio claims that the plan gives 33% more value than the competitors.
For comparison, Airtel offers 1.5GB/day at Rs. 2398, which has a validity of 365 days. Similarly Vodafone also provides 1.5GB/day at the same price for the 365 days.

Add-ons:

In addition to this new "whole year" plan, Jio has renewed its "Work from Home" plan and also added some new plans within it. You can find it under the "4G Data Voucher" section of My Jio App's recharge tab.
Jio offerThe first plan under the new Work from Home pack is the Rs. 251 pack. This renewed plan offers a straight out 50 GB 4G data and it will expire with your base plan validity. There is no daily data cap, that means you can use the 50GB in a single day if you want to do that.. (Keep in mind that the previous 'Work from Home" pack was also priced at Rs. 251, which gave you 2GB/day data for 51 days.)

The next plan is a new addition to the "Work from Home" section. This is priced at Rs. 201 and offers you 40GB High-speed data. The validity is again is same as the base plan validity.

Keep in mind that, if you want to use this new "Work from Home" plans then you need to have an active base plan, the plans which have its own validity. For example: 399, 249, 2399 etc.
These new 'Work from Home" plans offer you more data than the other existing Add-on recharge options that Jio offers. For example: The Rs. 101 add-on offers 12GB of data, whereas at Rs. 151 you will get 30GB of high-speed data under this new Jio offer. Which clearly gives you more bang for the buck.

So what do you think of the new plans offered by Jio? Do you think the plans are well priced?
