Xiaomi, the company behind the instant hit Mi band is tipping for some time to launch the Mi Band  5. It was speculated that the successor to the popular smart band, Mi Band 4, will be launched by Xiaomi in the first week of April but that didn't happen.

Now a twitter user has shared a render of the awaited Mi Band 5 and the tech community can't wait for more.

As you can see in the tweet, Xiaomi has something very special to offer this time. It looks like the new Mi Band 5 will have a punch-hole display, which I think will be the first of its kind. Never in the past, we encountered a smart band with a punch-hole display. Even though from the photo it is not clear whether the punch-hole will be used for a camera or a capacitive touch sensor.

Other than the hole in the screen, we can see a beautiful edge to edge oval display. Which was not seen in their previous models. A grey band strap can also be seen in the image.

Even though this tweet does not mention any specifications for the Bands, other reports claim that it will feature a 1.2-inch display- larger than the 0.95 inch AMOLED display used in the previous models. It is claimed that this time Xiaomi will also launch an NFC version of the Mi Band 5 outside China as well. This NFC enabled version can be used for contactless payments.

The Mi Band 5 will also feature other generic smart band components like heart rate sensor, gyro sensor, etc.

If all these rumors are true then with all this new tech, it is now to be seen whether Xiaomi could price it under Rs 2000 in Indian Market.
